Chris Warnack

To me yoga should be accessible, challenging and fun, and that's the focus of my classes. Accessibility (offering modifications and props), challenging (working the whole body) and fun (life is challenging, let's have a good time together). I've been practicing since 2006 and had the pleasure to live and study in New Jersey and Cleveland, learning many different approaches to yoga. In 2014 I became a RYT 200 teacher and haven't stopped learning since, completing more than 300 hours of additional training. I'm currently enrolled in the Citizen 300hr training program. I moved back to Michigan in 2019 and wandered around trying to fit my yoga community and found it here at Citizen, drawn to the diverse group of yogis, teachers, and styles of yoga. Citizen's core value of inclusion is at the heart of my yoga practice and my love for this community.

  • Slow Burn: Balancing with Chris

    Chris utilizes long holds and balancing postures to strengthen and stabilize the lower body in this 20 minute slow burn. Two blocks and a strap may be helpful, but are not required.

  • Restorative: Ground + Cool Down with Chris

    This flow is designed for everyone. Pair this with another flow or use this flow to wind down at the end of a long day. Two blocks may offer support.

  • Yoga + Strength: Glutes + Quads with Chris

    In this 20 minute video, Chris provides a well-balanced flow that focuses on strengthening the glutes and quads while opening the hips. Chris also weaves in some heart-opening in this flow. No props necessary.

  • Yoga + Strength: Core + Crow with Chris

    This short flow stabilizes and strengthens the body while preparing for crow pose (bakasana).
